What we call a mental journey (thoughts, dreams…) represents half our life, according to the ethnologist Charles Stepanoff. Our imagination is future-oriented. It allows an empathetic and subjective connection which what is different.
On a piece of wasteland, four human beings start listening to our ancestors: algae, roots, ferns…Thinking like a plant to discover how it sees things. A delight of the imagination that mobilises the body, becoming this open space that makes possible movements of actions, thoughts, disappearances, anonymity or ephemeral dwellings.
Each dancer is a cabin of an atmosphere from the mists of time, ready to embody the subject of her thought. A choreographic orality is created. The body connects and disconnects with itself and its surroundings, prey to its own stories and the state of the world in this place on this evening. In a relationship on both sides, the spectator is invited to the outskirts of this wasteland where subtlety becomes spectacle. An ecosystem next to the stage made of a carpet of moss, variations in light like special kinds of moments and a sound gesture that traces the temporality of the work in a single movement.
