For Lola, an artistic production process is about encounters with other people and the creation of a kind of mini-society, in which one re-examines how one communicates with each other, what the agreements are and how one arrives at a shared (imaginary) world. In her position as director, she gives the people she works with a lot of space to contribute their own material. As a director, she tends more towards a democracy than a dictatorship. That is why she likes to work collectively (i.e. without a predetermined hierarchy) as a theatre maker and why she acts in her performances herself.
When she directs, her work is visual and the physicality of the performers plays a major role. She has directed and researched a number of projects in collaboration with DE MAAN, De Kopergietery, Over ‘t ij Festival, d e t h e a t e r m a k e r and De Grote Post.
When she plays, the performances are often textual and the final responsibility is usually collective. As a performer she developed and researched several projects together with Monty Kultuurfaktorij, Festival Boulevard, Toneelgroep Maastricht, MoMeNT, VIAZUID, C-TAKT and Krokusfestival.
